Wow. I wasn't sure what to expect with this one, it's hard to find much information on this stone. As a massive fan of King stones, I wanted to give this one a shot. It's nothing short of practically perfect for my tastes. I can't believe the quality of King stones for the price. Compared to the original Deluxe stones (I have the 1k and 1200 to compare it to), the 800 grit "Part 2" is significantly harder, and a bit faster as well. It doesn't give off as much mud as those stones. The feedback is unreal. If you like King stones, you're probably familiar with and a fan of that "scratchy" feedback they have. This has that quality, but magnified. It's both extremely tactile and extremely audible, you know exactly what you're doing with this stone. This stone leaves a very keen edge on the steels I've tried it on so far, but simultaneously retains a lot of bite and aggression. Makes an excellent stepping stone but you absolutely can finish kitchen cutlery on this stone. It should last for a long time being as hard as it is and as thick as it is. I'm taking the time to write this because I had a hard time finding any opinions on this stone at all and thought I would add mine. Get it
